We, the Engelbrecht Medizin- und Labortechnik GmbH with head office in Edermünde near to Kassel, are a competent and reliable partner to pathologies, cytologies and the settled laboratory physicians.
With over 30 years of company history, Engelbrecht Medizin- und Labortechnik GmbH is now in its second generation, managed by Eike Engelbrecht as a traditional family business.
We place great value on consistency in our corporate culture and are particularly committed to strong employee retention and long-term service. This ensures that our customers and suppliers have the same reliable contacts over the long term. As a dependable employer and a regionally rooted company, we embrace social responsibility and secure the financial livelihoods of nearly 20 employees and their families in the region.
Our services include the distribution and packaging of medical consumables and supplies. In addition to our core business, we offer our customers archiving services for their specimens, pads, and case documentation, and are increasingly focusing on in-house filling of formaldehyde-filled screw-top containers. The company primarily benefits from its day-to-day business with a relatively stable customer base of approximately 950 customers.
Our goal is to ensure optimal customer support. This includes providing consumables for medical laboratories, as well as excellent service and a simple and convenient ordering process. Within Germany, goods are shipped via parcel services, freight forwarders, and our own transport vehicles. To parts of Europe and the rest of the world, we use freight forwarders and DHL services – fast, straightforward, and without borders.
Our current investment projects secure existing jobs and will create up to four new full-time positions in the medium term. In an environment characterized by high customer expectations and increasing demands from standards and regulations, these investments position us to remain competitive.
FUTURE INVESTMENTS
Expansion of the Filling Plant
To expand the capacity of the existing formaldehyde filling plant, an additional filling unit is being installed. An additional full-time position will be created in the short term to operate the new filling line. In the medium term, 1-2 more full-time positions are planned for the filling department to ensure regular two-shift operation.
Construction of Hall³
Investments are being made not only in machinery but also, to secure the future of the site, in the newly constructed Hall 3 for the archiving of specimens, blocks, and documentation. An additional full-time archivist position is needed in the short term to operate the archive. To manage the growing demand for archiving, at least one more full-time position for managing the archival materials will be required in this area in the medium term. The vacated Hall 2 can now be used as an expanded storage area for Hall 1. Additional shelving and a mezzanine have been installed to expand the storage space.
New Break Rooms
The existing solutions are insufficient for the increased number of employees. To comply with the Workplace Ordinance, adequate break rooms must be created for the staff. Additional usable space has been created in Hall 1 by constructing a mezzanine. This will house the new break rooms for the employees. An additional room is being built underneath for the new filling unit. These future investments will ensure a competitive supply for the customer base and the smooth production of filled screw-top containers.
